At FBC Buford, we believe seriously in fulfilling the commands of our Savior Jesus Christ to make Him known throughout all the earth. We strive to teach and engage the local church in fulfilling this command through the model given in Acts 1:8. In that passage from God's Word, Jesus says, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Christ was clear in his teaching that we are to pray, give, and go so that the gospel can be spread.

missions giving

The Great Commission Offering (GCO) is an opportunity for our church to give to missions.  Our church gave $44,000 during this year's campaign.  Through the GCO, we are able to support an array of missions efforts occurring locally, nationally, and globally. This approach to missions giving provides us the flexibility to support mission efforts historically important to us as Southern Baptists (i.e. Lottie Moon and Annie Armstrong Offerings), while also supporting local mission efforts such short term mission trip scholarships, Operation Christmas Child, and others. Please prayerfully consider how you will give to the GCO and join us in praying that God would move our church to give above and beyond our church goal.

Through this offering, we will support these mission endeavors:

Lottie Moon

Annie Armstrong

Just as we are committed to loving, serving, and influencing our community and state, we are committed to doing the same in our country. Our commitment to reaching our nation is seen through short term mission trip opportunities as well as participation in the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering.

international missions

There is also a commitment to missions in reaching the world. We are seeking to fulfill this commitment by praying for our missionary partners, supporting missions financially, and by sending out short-term mission teams.

People from FBC Buford have traveled to China, Russia, El Salvador, Haiti, Israel, and other places across the world.

Each year, we participate in the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child initiative. Our church is a drop-off location for our area.

operation christmas child

Operation Christmas Child is a powerful ministry through Samaritan's Purse that sends the gospel all over the world through a simple shoebox.  FBC continues to be a part of this effort, and as back to school items are being stocked in stores, it is a great time to fill a shoebox. Information on packing a box can be found in the main lobby.
